»»» Bistro (24)Welcome to Spokane's premier downtown bistro.
Opened in March 2006, Wild Sage American Bistro instantly became downtown's "go to" spot for casual business lunches, relaxing or romantic dinners, and desserts or small plates after a show or event.
We invite you to join our dining club and take advantage of specials offered exclusively to our members.
Our frequently updated menu was created by Chef Alexa Wilson, a home-grown professional who uses fine, fresh ingredients locally grown and purchased whenever possible.
Executive Chef Alexa Wilson, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Portland, favors simple whole foods creatively prepared and elegantly presented.
She has tickled the taste buds of diners at many of Spokane's favorite eateries including the upscale Davenport Hotel's Palm Court, Prospector's Bar and Grill and Downriver Grill.
The Spokane area native enjoys experimenting with surprising blends of color, texture and flavor. Returning guests anticipate the artistry of each plate as much as the exquisite fare on it.
Complimenting Chef Alexa's cuisine are our scratch-baked breads, crackers and desserts, the forte of Gare Traeger, consulting partner and baker extraordinaire. And what goes better with bread or sweets than a fine wine? Wild Sage boasts a remarkable diversity of local and regional vintages as well as national and international classics – all displayed library-style around the bar, complete with a functional and attractive library ladder.Hours of Operation

wonderful - 11/12/2008 09:54:50
Dana from Spokane Valley, Wa
The atmosphere here is wonderful: great friendly staff, wonderful chef, great colors, and quite relaxing. I would highly recommend this location.
Best Service In Town! - 10/30/2008 15:55:22
Peggy from Spokane, WA
I was invited to dine at WS prior to a Symphony performance and I must say it was the best surprise I have had in 26 years of living in Spokane! The service was impeccible, as was the food!
Friendly place with delicious food! - 07/23/2008 18:57:03
Michael from Spokane, WA
I love the Wild Sage. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The food is wonderful and changes with the season. The Pork Marsala is my new favorite and I love the accompanying potato pancakes. All food items are fresh and regional. I heard food items are from local gardens...not many local establishments can claim that...
I have never had a bad experience and highly recommend it to my friends. I especially love the 4-6 pm bistro menu and their late night small plate menu. No matter what anyone says try them and I bet you wlil agree with me.
5 Stars all the way!! - 07/23/2008 14:02:56

This may be the best place to eat in all of Spokane. From the food to the wine to the service, all were perfect.
Highly recommended!
Very Friendly Service & Always Something New - 07/21/2008 15:30:59
Dana F. from Spokane
What we like the very best about the Wild Sage is the friendly and personal service. The greeters and servers always seem to remember and appreciate us, which makes us feel so welcome. We look forward to our dinners at the Wild Sage because there is always something new. Their unusual and changing selection of specialty cocktails is always intersting and intriguing. They use unusual ingredients, sage for one, and they even make their own flavored liquor infusions. Their house specialty popovers are a delightful change from other restaurants' ordinary bread baskets, and the accompanying flavored butter is always a surprise ~ one time it might be tomato herb, another time it might be lavender honey. They even vary the decor seasonally. The windows will be dressed in pastel sheers one time, and heavy dark red drapes another, just to keep the room looking new and fresh. The excellently prepared and beautifully plated meals are top notch, and the prices reflect this perfection. Other Spokane restaurants offer this level of fine dining, but the professional and genuinely caring crew of the Wild Sage really elevate the dining experience high above the norm.
Big Disappointment - 06/21/2008 15:55:52
Bud from Spokane, WA
We heard about the WILD SAGE AMERICAN BISTRO, so we thought we'd give it a try.
The 1st time we went there the service was rude, slow, and provential.
We thought we might have had a bad experience, so we thought we'd try it again, a month later.
To make a long story short, the service was still bad -- Both times it's been consistent; and an absolute disappointment.
Here's the highlights & consistent pattern for both visits:
Pro's:
- Downtown Spokane
- Business is waining since it opened, so easier to get in
Con's:
- Unfriendly Service
- Provincial, Rude, & Haughty
- Slow to move customers from waiting area to tables
- Small Waiting Area - Conflicts with Tables (People Sitting)
- Overpriced / Food not worth the Entree Pricing
- Staff needs Customer Service Training (ie: Who's the Customer)
Summary: Not Recommended - Better choices in Spokane
best key lime torte in my life!!! - 03/20/2008 19:20:22
Chris M. from Spokane, WA
Wild Sage had a special key lime torte for dessert and I tried it and this is no exaggeration: THIS WAS THE BEST TASTING KEY LIME TORTE I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE! If you have the opportunity to try this, DO IT! It is soft, it is sweet, it is AMAZING!
Great for Lunch - 03/05/2008 12:45:08
TheLagBeast from Spokane, Wa
The WS offers a change of pace from the standard course of drinks offered at most of the other dinning facilities within walking distance of the core of down town Spokane. My wife and I enjoyed each of the beverage choices we had with lunch that day: a spicy lemonade which included a few slices of jalapeños, and a virgin Mojito. Lunch was served thoughtfully and quickly for the business person with only an hour to spare.
Wild Sage has definitely earned our repeat business. They will see us again.
Yum! - 02/28/2008 15:58:11
Misha from Spokane, WA
The lunch menu is great. The chicken & brie sandwich was very good, but the fries were the best part-nice & salty, with tiny bits of cheese on top...so good! The drinks are also very interesting & fun-the alcohol-free hibiscus tea mojito was very tasty.
very good food and service - 02/13/2008 13:56:34
Alex from Spokane, WA
my wife and I visited Wild Sage for the first time last month and loved it so much we made our Valentine's Day dinner reservations there- the menu is diverse and unique and everything we had from the cheese plate to the truffle cake was delicious! Highly recommended, local gem!
